Hi,
first of all thank you for your great work and for keeping Kooboo Cms open source.
I'm trying to implement a Kooboo 3.04 Module (using Kooboo.CMS.ModuleTemplate) that
store data on DB but I've not found enough documentation on how to do this.

Can you supply a simple example that:
-Creates DB tables on Module install
-Drops DB tables on Module uninstall
-Frontend form to insert data in DB
-Backend page to list inserted data

Thank you in advance

Best regards

Andrea Tasca

You can write some custom code in the module install/uninstall action to create and drop tables.

All the jobs in kooboo cms module development is very like to the ASP.NET MVC, it is very easy.

You guys must do some documentation, this is perhaps more important than the software itself,

By making some documentation on how to create Plugins, Modules, and extension you are opening the door for the community to contribute with your great effort.

Please consider it,

I really appreciate your effort.

Cheers

The kooboo cms exporting/importing data module is: http://kooboodata.codeplex.com/

In 3.1 module template, there have "tutorial.txt".

After about three month I decded to write something again and I think this will be for the last time. I think it is useless asking and begging you Kooboo guys to do documentation. I wrote the same post few month ago and nothing new. Mustafamagdy pointed right ! Proper documentation maybe more important than the software itself .... About 3 month ago we as Kooboo community tried to contribute , there were few good ideas and some of us wanted to help but none of you Kooboo guys did not make any effort to chanalise community good will into something usefull. This is the post I am talking about http://forum.kooboo.com/...tech-documentation.aspx Did you ask yourself Why there are nou users modules, no users extensions or plugins like in other open source communities ? Why are open source CMS projects like Umbraco, Kentico, Orchard sucessful and gaing users and Kooboo is not ? Why those project have large community plugins and modules repositories and you do not have even one ? Is this the way you want it ? If it is so be honest to community and say clearly "We do not care for your contribution !" If this is not so WRITE PROPER TEHNICAL DOCUMENTATION, MAKE FEW EKSTENSION AND MODULE DEMOS !!!!!

Hi Grdiruda,

We took your opinion very seriously and would like to offer our apology on this.

In stead of giving reason of why it took so long, we would like to offer the action plans.

1. we are redesigning the website, we are not comfortable with current website. It looks not as a quality software. this will be released very soon after the Chinese new year holiday that starts from tomorrow.

2. We surely would like to write proper technical documentation and of course offer the community our own modules and a place to exchange modules. This should happen right after the new site is released!

3. we did not find a good wiki software, but we are setting it up shortly now a wiki site for documentation.

If you are using MSN, please add my MSN for communication: guoqi@kooboo.com
